Everyone is eligible to receive preferred pricing on pet insurance for their dogs and cats of any breed or age. -
When can I enroll?
You can enroll anytime! The policy effective date is typically the first of the following month. There are no waiting periods for accidents, Illnesses, and wellness care after your effective date.** -
How much will this coverage cost?
You'll pay less by enrolling through your employer than you would for coverage you would find on your own.
You can get dog or cat health insurance starting at just $1/day.* The price of an Accident and Illness BestBenefit plan is based on three factors: age, breed, and location. For accident and illness plans, you can choose your deductible ranging from ($50-$1,000), reimbursement percentage (70%, 80% or 90%) and annual limit ($5,000 and Unlimited). Pets Best offers a wide range of plans to fit your budget and pets' needs.
Pets Best offers two routine care coverage plans that can be added to any BestBenefit plan.EssentialWellness costs $16/month and BestWellness costs $26/month.

If I leave my employer, will I be able to keep my coverage?
Yes! When you leave or retire from your current employer, you can continue your coverage without interruption, subject to applicable law and the policy’s terms and conditions. Although payroll deduction will no longer be available if you retire or leave your company, you can opt for other payment methods such as direct checking or bank account deduction, credit card billing or home billing. Higher rates may apply. -
What's not covered?
- Pre-existing conditions, or any condition showing signs or symptoms prior to the policy effective date, are not covered by pet insurance. However, if your pet has a pre-existing condition, like allergies for example, there are still thousands of other future health issues pet insurance covers.
- Non-veterinary expenses, food, special diets, vitamins & supplements
- Preventative, elective, and experimental therapies and treatments

How do I file a claim?
You can submit a claim through the Pets Best mobile app by simple snapping a photo of your receipt. You can also submit a claim through email, fax, or mail. Reimbursements can be sent via direct deposit or check. Plus, the easy-to-use Pets Best portal and mobile app give you real-time access to manage your claims. -
How does my veterinarian receive payment?
Typically, you would pay your veterinarian directly and then submit a claim. Pets Best will process your claim and reimburse you according to your plan. Pets Best can also reimburse your vet directly if the veterinarian allows and signs the Pets Best Vet Reimbursement Release Form. -
What is the 24/7 Pet Helpline and how does it work?
Every Pets Best policyholder has access to the 24/7 Pet Helpline! Chat, email or call a veterinary expert any time day or night to get your pet health and behavior questions answered. -
Are prescriptions covered under my policy?
Yes. Prescription medications to treat a covered accident and/or illness are covered.
